Please note: If you are a new member, we can begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer a member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice. However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.

What We Do

How does NPFCU protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

We also maintain other physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect this information and limit access to employees for whom access is appropriate.

How does NPFCU collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

  • Open an account
  • Make a wire transfer
  • Give us your contact information
  • Show your driver’s license
  • Pay us by check

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

    • Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
    • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
    • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.

  • Our affiliates include:
     Financial companies.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control or joint marketing
agreement. They can be financial and non-financial companies.

  • NPFCU does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.

Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. 

  • Our joint marketing partners include insurance company and financial planning.

Other Important Information

For Illinois Members. We will not share personal information with nonaffiliates either for them to market to you or for joint marketing – without your authorization.
